Emily Blunt is a “pushy” actress.
The ‘Devil Wears Prada’ star admits she pressured the producers of ‘The Young Victoria’ into giving her the role of former British monarch Victoria, despite believing she was second choice for the part
She said: “I was a bit forthright in wanting to be involved. You could say pushy. I probably was pushy.
“I met (producers) Graham King and Denis O’Sullivan in Los Angeles, and said, ‘I’m very sure that I’m probably the elimination candidate for a bigger name, but I’d love to do it, and I really think I could, and I’d love it if you would give me a shot.’ I walked out thinking that was so presumptuous, but it seemed to work.” Emily – who stars alongside Jim Broadbent in the movie – fell in love with her character during the making of the movie.
She added to Empire magazine: “She was irrepressible and exciting and joyful and rebellious. I did sort of fall in love with her when I started reading about her.
“I think she was very highly sexed, but loathed that it ended in pregnancy. I think she exhausted poor Albert actually!”
