thing up on the big screen that has anything to do with the needless, heedless shedding of blood. But, as the British actress explained to MTV News, she signed up to star with Benicio Del Toro in the gothic horror film “The Wolfman” because along with the frights came amazing makeup effects from the best in the biz, a dark, character-driven story, and a particularly complex relationship with her onscreen co-star.

Blunt: “I’m going to dance boot camp”

Emily Blunt has revealed that she has enrolled in intense dance lessons in preparation for her latest film.

The Young Victoria actress, who plays a ballerina in new film The Adjustment Bureau alongside Matt Damon, said that the role will be a new challenge for her.

Blunt told the Herald Sun: “I’m going to dance boot camp. I’ll never be at the same standard as a professional, but hopefully I’ll be able to do a little bit. I didn’t do ballet when I was a child. I gave it up in some sort of bratty rage, claiming it hurt my feet.”

The movie is a sci-fi thriller which sees a congressman’s life transformed by Blunt’s dancer character. Filming is scheduled to start later this year.

“She was a total party animal; rebellious, vivacious, full of joie de vivre,” says Emily Blunt, chatting enthusiastically about her latest role as Queen Victoria in The Young Victoria. “She never stopped – riding horses all day, dancing until four o’clock in the morning. People today only think of her as the weeping widow, but she had a real zest for life.”

While the Victorian era is known for laced-up social attitudes, for rules and etiquette as uptight as a whale-bone corset, its tabloid columnists could be just as lethal as any Perez Hilton in their attacks on the monarch. [Read more…]

Emily is Top 20 Actresses Under 30

Emily Blunt is listed number #4 for LoveFilm.com’s Top 20 Actresses Under 30.

Blunt had the misfortune to lose out on Iron Man 2 this year because she was already committed to Gulliver’s Travels (Scarlett Johansson was Jon Favreau’s second choice). She accrued respect but not much excitement as The Young Victoria. But she wiped the floor with Amy Adams in Sunshine Cleaning, and should be fun flirting with Bill Nighy in the remake Wild Target. The Wolf Man is also in the can, and then there’s Philip K Dick’s The Adjustment Bureau to look forward to (with Matt Damon). Hot!
