Emily Blunt has admitted learning ballet was the toughest thing she has had to do.

The Wild Target actress – who had “never danced” – had to study it for her new film, The Adjustment Bureau, where she plays a ballet dancer who falls in love with a congressman, played by Matt Damon.

“It was really tough, the hardest and scariest thing I’ve ever had to do – I was in boot camp for a long time,” she told Total Film.

Emily was thrilled to star alongside Matt.

Emily Blunt has no regrets about handing her role in Iron Man 2 over to Scarlett Johansson – insisting the young American did an amazing job in the comic book blockbuster.

The British actress had been lined up to play the Black Widow in the superhero sequel opposite Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Mickey Rourke.

The 27 year old was forced to drop out due to scheduling conflicts and the role was offered to Johansson instead.

But Blunt admits her replacement was a much better choice as Johansson looked great in the character’s tight back costume, while she got to wear girly dresses in her role as a princess for the upcoming Gulliver’s Travels adaptation instead.

She tells Britain’s Sunday Times, “Scarlett worked that catsuit, so who’s complaining? I get to play a princess. It’s the most frilly I’ve ever been.”

• Emily Blunt ‘Distressed’ By Nighy Romance

Emily Blunt found it “physically distressing” when her character was romantically linked to Bill Nighy’s in their new movie, the actor has joked.

In British comedy Wild Target, 27-year-old Blunt plays beautiful jewel thief Rose who manages to charm a hit man hired to kill her. Nighy portrays middle-aged assassin Victor who goes on the run with Rose in a bid to save her life.

The 60-year-old actor has revealed his younger co-star was shocked when she discovered they would be sharing some emotionally charged scenes, but he was thrilled with the script.

“She finds it incredibly amusing the idea that I should be in any way romantically linked,” Nighy laughed in an interview with Sky News. “She finds it physically distressing. But she was a good sport and I was ready to rock.”

Rupert Grint also appears in the movie, playing Victor’s unwitting apprentice. The 21-year-old star is best known for playing Ron Weasley in the popular Harry Potter movies and he has previously revealed it strange to work on a new project.

Rupert sports unkempt facial hair in Wild Target and his new look has sparked much discussion from his fans.

He has claimed he also spent hours talking about the beginnings of a beard with movie bosses. “There was a lot of meetings about my facial hair,” the actor laughed.
