British actress Emily Blunt left the set of The Devil Wears Prada feeling a little disappointed – because costar Meryl Streep nixed her plans to take home all the designer clothes when filming wrapped.
The British actress – who played a fashion assistant in the 2006 flick, which also stars Anne Hathaway – admits she was desperate to bag all the expensive outfits, but was put in a difficult position when Streep suggested a more charitable option.“Meryl Streep had this idea of selling everything for charity,” Blunt recalls. “Everyone was saying, ‘Great idea’ – when really we were dying inside. You can’t say no to Meryl Streep – particularly when she’s being charitable.
“I did steal a belt – that’s okay, isn’t it? But it was so unfair.”
